 TRADITIONAL BRAZILIAN JIU-JITSU

Our Self-defense Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is a grappling martial art specifically designed to empower smaller and weaker individuals to defend themselves against larger and stronger assailants by utilizing leverage, timing, weight distribution and technique. In contrast to "sport" BJJ, which emphasizes point scoring in competitive settings, self-defense BJJ prioritizes survival, escape, and control in real-world situations devoid of rules.

The primary aim of self-defense BJJ is is designed for neutralizing threats with minimal harm. Key principles include leveraging body mechanics over brute, securing a dominant position before attempting submissions, and closing the distance to mitigate an opponent's striking capacity.

Many self defense programs, including those taught by the Gracie family, delineate four essential phases: against potential attacks, escaping from disadvantageous positions, establishing control once in a more favorable stance, and ultimately submitting the attacker as a last resort.

This curriculum is taught by Mike Abron Brazilian Jiu Jitsu who is a Black Belt 1st Degree - USA Jiu-Jitsu certified by Grandmaster Jose Higino Alves Nunes (Fadda Lineage) - United States Ju-Jitsu Federation, and a Self-Defense Jiu-Jitsu Coach under the Jiu-Jitsu Global Federation (Grandmaster Rickson Gracie).
