Core Philosophy and Training
The system is built on reality based and tested techniques that integrate several martial arts disciplines to handle standing and ground grapple hand-to-hand confrontations and weapon threats.
Key focus areas include:
• De-escalation & Awareness: Prioritizes situational awareness and techniques to avoid physical conflict whenever possible.
• Hybrid Discipline: Combines elements of Jiu-Jitsu, Hapkido, Muay Thai,
• Street-Specific Scenarios: Training includes defense against multiple attackers and threats involving weapons.
• Grappling: Emphasizes both standing and ground grappling tailored for the street rather than the mat.
• Adult Programs: Specialized training for real-life street systems, including defensive tactics for concealed carry license holders and tactical training for security and law enforcement officers.
• Kids Program: A unique SSD Street Self Defense Jiu-Jitsu belt program for children, focusing on personal safety and real-life situations rather than sport competition.
The academy's mission is to also provide practical skills and knowledge of legal implications—topics often missing from standard martial arts training.
